19th c. american primitive cricket stool

scooped saddle seat on four splayed legs with original red-brown painted finish. originally used as a milking stool, the form is entirely functional but looks sculptural.

works well as a stool, side table, or simply styled on its own.

wear consistent with age including surface marks, edge chips, and a filled knot. original paint intact.
